barcode-labels.eu is a free tool for creating and printing barcode labels, with no sign-up and no adverts.

Who runs this site?

The site is a project of Labex Label (Labex Label SAS, France), which makes and sells self-adhesive labels: rolls for thermal printers, A4 sheets and custom printed labels. Customers often ask us the same questions: how to get an EAN-13, which size to choose, why a barcode won't scan at the till. This site brings together the answers and the tool we wanted to point them to.

What the tool does

• It draws barcodes in your browser: your codes are not sent anywhere.
• It checks and adds check digits (EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, ITF-14).
• It matches bar widths to your printer's resolution and warns about barcodes that are too small.
• It offers common A4 sheet layouts and roll sizes. Labels from any brand with the same dimensions will work.

What it doesn't do

It doesn't issue “official” EAN numbers: to sell in shops, barcodes must be registered to your company by GS1. It doesn't create GS1-128 barcodes with application identifiers either.
